It also has curiosity. I am kind of curious about how somebody who lived in an old Honda became a millionaire!

I call it “Itchy Sizzle” and you need to use it wherever your propsect’s eyeballs make contact with your content. I even try to use it as a thumbnail for sales videos.

Sales Video Purpose

Matt Morris wants people to join one of the MLM programs that he promotes, however if he just came out and pitched an MLM, people would click away.

Instead he understands that he must be patient and provide a lot of value. The purpose is to build up the “Know, Like & Trust” factor to very high levels. Once he has your trustย he knows that it will be the right time to pitch his MLM programs.

So really, the purpose of this sales video is to get prospects to book an appointment. During the appointment, more value will be provided and the MLM programs will probably be pitched.ย 

Persuasive Techniques In The Sales Video

1) Introduction

  • Asking For Attention For 1 Hour
  • Reassures Prospects That Nothing Is Being Sold
  • There Is No Cost
  • This Will Not Let You Down Like Other Training

2) Make A Big Promise

  • Give prospects a strong reason to watch the whole video until the end.

3) Hero Journey Story Commences

  • Drove A Beat Up Honda
  • Bathed in Gas Station Bathrooms
  • Now A Multimillionaire with 700K followers

4) Call Out To Ideal prospects ie Who this is for

“This is not some motivational training. This is not a sales pitch for some crappy course. I’m not here to sugarcoat anything and I’m never going to be the leader who makes it sound like it’s all sunshine and rainbows shooting out of your butt.

I am here for one thing and that is to transform our industry and the only way to transform our industry is to transform future leaders like you and just a fair warning. “

5) Issue A Warning

This will galvanize the “ideal prospect”. They will not want to be considered as one of the weak prospects who lacks commitment.

“While I’m one of the biggest ambassadors and supporters of the network marketing profession, heck I own Network Marketer. Some of what I tell you is most likely going to scare you away if you’re not totally committed to network marketing.”

6) Identify The Problem & Twist The Knife

Now Matt, is talking about the problem that the prospect has before he can propose a solution or “bridge”.

After stating the problem, he doubles down on all the feelings of frustration that the prospects feels to really increase their urgency to find relief from these bad feelings.

“I’m going to share with you what are really some kind of disturbing truths that I believe are crippling our profession but here’s what I know. Denying the truth is worse yet hiding the truth is not going to fix the problem.

So what’s the problem well if you got into network marketing thinking that you’d be making a lot more money than you are by now then that’s a problem but you’re in good company because network marketers today more than ever are at a loss on what to do to make it work and they’re dizzy from going in circles and I get it.”

7) I Understand Your Pain

Now Matt shows that he understands the pain because he has experienced it.

This is leading the prospect to believe that Matt has a real and genuine solution.

“I understand exactly what they’re going through because it’s what I went through for five years maybe you relate to this you get motivated you attend an event a zoom you listen to a motivational video someone from your company you get pumped up and you have this burst of motivation but then a day or two later you wonder what the hell happened where is that fire that was inside me and I get it.

In today’s day and age network marketers are bombarded with the latest greatest hot new recruiting strategy that some guru pitches online so they buy yet another course another ebook thinking it’s going to solve all their problems be it a tic tok follower strategy, maybe it’s a direct messaging script but it doesn’t actually help. It’s this constant search for the one thing. That magic bullet that’s going to create a tsunami of people wanting to sign up but it doesn’t work. So they go back to doing what they know, numbing out watching tv, youtube, scrolling through social media, cleaning their home office, buying stuff they don’t need, planning to-do lists resetting goals for the 800th time and whatever other convoluted plans that make them feel productive.

They do that until the next burst the motivation hits and they repeat the cycle all over again and every revolution of this cycle drives them even more and more mad getting more and more frustrated feeling more and more powerless until despair sets in and they eventually give up on network marketing altogether and I call this the mlm cycle of insanity.”

8) Credibility/Authority Enhancer

It’s around this time that prospects may think, “Why should, I listen to you”.

The solution to this is to prove without doubt that you have credibility and authority on the subject.
